More Cuteness

Ayden loves to draw and make pictures! Here is him in action and one of his pieces that was made out of sand and glue.

Just Bein Cute

We absolutely adore this little guy. Here are a few cute videos while we were just hanging out having fun.

Ayden Found Barney

As soon as Ayden wakes up in the morning and as soon as he comes home from school, the first words out of his mouth are "Arney on, please!". He watches each episode to the end and loves to sing "I love you, you love me."

Ayden's Halloween Party at School

Ayden began attending daycare full time in late September after Mimmi broke her leg. He was excited that he got to be the first to "sign" her cast with a yellow hand print (which by the way is his favorite color). Although starting school was rough at first, he quickly began making friends and is now the teacher's pet and helper! His first party at school was a Halloween Celebration. After the celebration, the kids were let loose on their floorscape to burn off some of that Halloween Treat Sugar Rush! Ayden's favorite Halloween Treat are "happy cakes", otherwise known as mini cupcakes.

Halloween

This year for Halloween, we went on a pumpkin hunt where we went on a hay ride, a ride on a real fire truck, and searched for mini pumpkins hidden on the farm. Ayden had such a great time.

Trick or Treating

Ayden enjoyed trick or treating this year. It took me a while to convince him to leave his doggy costume on, but once he started collecting goodies, he was no longer aware of the costume. The entire ride home was spent checking out the loot with his flashlight.

First Visit to the Zoo

In October, we took our first visit to the zoo. Ayden was less than thrilled with the caged animals, but enjoyed throwing food into their cages.

Ayden's First Haircut

It's finally time for Ayden's first haircut (at age 26 months)! Our very favorite hairdress, Uncle Barry, was kind enough to make the event a little easier by coming to our house. As long as he was distracted, it was easy :)

Ayden's Pony

Last year for Christmas, Mimmi bought Ayden a pony! Unfortunately, we learned she was pregnant opted to wait for another pony that was just right and NOT pregnant! Sassy finally got to move in this summer. She's a sweet, gentle, little girl and we love her. Ayden hasn't been brave enough to ride her yet, but I'm sure he'll be jumping on very soon.

Labor Day

Pequin Peppers grow wild in our area. They are said to be the hottest peppers in the world. We have several plants along our fenceline and the birds eat them so we leave them alone. Unfortuantely, Ayden came running around the house one day screaming. We washed his mouth out and gave him milk after Cathy discovered that his fingers tasted hot. Upon further investigation, I found his bike parked in one of the bushes and knew right away the culprit. He recovered relatively quickly and hasn't gone near the plants since. The picture doesn't show just how red his face was!

We enjoyed a BBQ at home to mark the end of summer. Ayden enjoyed relaxing on the patio telling stories with Pappa.

More Summer Fun

We took Ayden to watch the 4th of July fireworks unsure of how he would respond. At first, he was ok, then he got scared for a moment, then he enjoyed them (so long as he was clinging to one of us). The rest of our time was spent in the pool. He is such a waterbug!

Summer Fun with Cousin April

Ayden's cousin April came to visit for a few weeks in July before she went off to college. April is my brother Jeff's daughter. Ayden adored her and we had so much fun with at the waterpark, at the pool, playing in the slip and slide and watching fireworks for the fourth of July. We can't wait for April to come back to see us next summer!

Summer Fun

Summer Photos

Ayden has enjoyed his summer! Everyday we are in the pool or playing in the hose. He loves to mow the grass with his "mow-mow" and help water the gardens. Ayden is learning his colors right now. His favorite colors are "boo" (blue) and "lello" (yellow). He is still very much into "car-cars" and "bick strucks" (big trucks). He is speaking in full sentences and is certain about what he wants and doesn't want! He is quick with "yes" and "no" and please. And we've all noticed that he's beginning to become a little neat freak (who'd he get that from :)?)! He won't leave a room until he's put away all the toys and thrown away all the trash. I couldn't be more proud.
